Senior year is something every teen dreams about. Waiting for the chance to be the leaders of the school. Murisa Polk (12) is super excited to end her journey called high school, but she wants to make sure she leaves her mark.

These are just a few things that can be said about the 2018 graduates. Every year, the school has the opportunity to see a unique senior class, where they can either take seriously their role as leaders for the student body, or soak up their last year of fun. The seniors get to decide the legacy that is left behind. Mr. Franz wants a good legacy left behind by building each other up.

“Build up the kingdom, don’t tear it down,“ Franz said.

High School isn’t about being rich, popular, or the best looking. High School is about being real, humble and kind to the other students. Father O’Brien hopes that the seniors take leadership seriously.

“The goal is to be good role models,” O’Brien said.

Seniors need to show the underclassmen how to put aside the differences and learn to work, enjoy, and be together. The class of 2018 is doing just that. Murisa Polk, along with the rest of her senior class, is ecstatic about taking on senior year.

“Our class enthusiasm is unshakable,” Polk said.

Enthusiastic is an understatement for this class, especially when it comes to extracurriculars and school spirit. The class of 2018 showed its school spirit by winning the spirit stick at the first school pep rally at the field on Friday, September 8th.

Principal Franz, Father O’Brien, and Murisa Polk all agree on the seniors being very enthusiastic leaders of the school. Seniors are ready to win every event, task, and pep rally game. Leadership for the seniors this year is very important to keep of traditions and teaching the  younger students about our legacy to be good students.  Go Comets 2018!
