Whether it’s teaching English or just helping keep the  campus look good, the faculty and staff have a big impact on the school.  Thanks to the all the faculty, students would not enjoy as much academic success. There are a total of 112 staff members.  According to Fr. O’Brien, this year has had fewer hires than previous years.

“We’ve had a few as two hires and as much as 12. This year, we had six to seven new hires, which makes this year an average year,” O’Brien said.

Sam Nelson is one of the new hires at BK this year. He teaches World History for freshmen and sophomores and also helps with boys basketball and softball.

“I really enjoy Bishop Kelley. I like how academics and athletics are equal,” Nelson said.

New faculty come to BK for a variety of reasons;to get a new start,to switch things up, or to just see how things are different from other schools.

“BK is better than other schools,” Nelson said.

The school is thankful for the faculty they have had for multiple years and thankful for the new staff that will help it progress even more.
