The man, the myth, the legend, Father Kastl..Father Kastl’s first day of school at BK was December 21, 2017. This was a historic moment as it was the first new President in about 10 years. Father O’ Brien had to leave BK because of a new assignment to a St. Francis Xavier in Stillwater, OK.

“Although the title of my role is ‘President,’ I see myself as a pastor,” Father Kastl said.

Father Kastl was anxious and ready to join BK. Father Kastl wants to lead the school to his best intentions and will speak to us as high school students still learning to be greater people.

“We would want you to be at as many school events as you can be at,” Thomas Cunningham (12) said.

Although Father Kastl is the President of the school, he is also there to be cheering everyone on at whatever events are going on. Father Kastl supported the men’s basketball team at BK’s hoops for hope and also cheered them on when they played Bishop McGuinness.

The biggest part of Father Kastl’s job is that he will be working at two schools and a parish up until June. He currently is the pastor of St. Anne’s and All Saints School, and is now working at Bishop Kelley.

“I will be able to be even more present when I am no longer pastor at St. Anne,” Father Kastl said.

Once Father Kastl leaves St. Anne’s, his main focus will finally be on Bishop Kelley and will fulfill his role as the new President of Bishop Kelley High School.
