Surprisingly, the school will be losing several staff members for the coming school year. One of the departing faculty, Mrs. Parrish, will be replaced by Mrs. Abboud for her librarian position. Although she is leaving, Mrs. Parrish is very happy with her replacement.

“There could not have been a better choice,”  Parrish said. “She used to be an English teacher so she can help students.”

Although the students will miss Mrs. Parrish, many are excited to see Mrs. Abboud in the library. Mrs. Abboud has previous experience with books, since she formerly taught English classes. By having an English teacher in the library, students will be given the opportunity to ask her for help, considering she is qualified and capable of assistance. One of the students, Charlie Dionisio, will give his opinion.

“I think she will be a great asset to the library staff,” said Freshman Charlie Dionisio. “Her addition will emit a positive atmosphere in the library.”

Mrs. Parrish stated in her interview that she would be leaving to retire, but said she would still look for a place to work that would pay better, considering she wants to have enough money to retire.

In a recent poll of 20 students,  77% of students across campus decided that Mrs. Abboud would make a great librarian. Many of the voters who had previously taker her courses, stated that she is great with students and extremely nice.

Bishop Kelley is excited to make changes, and the students are too. Although Mrs. Parrish will be missed, her replacement will most likely do a great job.
