You may have to be 21 to club in the real world, but you can be any age to be in a club at Bishop Kelley!  From the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club, to the Pro-Life Club, to the Equestrian Club, to the Spanish Club, the school provides a club for any type of interest a student may have!  Getting into a club is easy, and the students should be required to join at least one club.

This school may be small compared to Union and Broken Arrow, but even in this small school it is important to find good groups of people that you fit into.  Clubs at Kelley are so diverse that any student could find a club that they fit into.  Students can make new friends and build new relationships with the people they meet in the club.

Principal Jim Franz feels that groups and clubs are good for students.

“Primary need you need in adolescence…a need to belong and find affirmation in a group beyond family,” Franz said.

Students need another group beyond family to help with self confidence and to find relationships that carry on throughout life.  Clubs give students the opportunity to put themselves out there and to get themselves involved in their school’s life.  It also looks good on college applications.  All students should be required to join a club, and most students are constantly involved in their clubs.

Student council president Thomas Cunningham is constantly involved in clubs.

“Being in clubs is a good way to get yourself out there and help out your school community.  I’m involved in a few and it’s a great way to make new friends and memories,” Cunningham said.
