Cori Lewis, a sophomore, suffered a tear in his meniscus during the McGuinness game. The injury required surgery and to rest for 6-8 weeks. He worked hard to come back two weeks early and play in the Hale game.

Coach Justin Robinson likes the intangibles that Cori brings to the team.

“It’s good too have such an amazing athlete on the field, but he also brings really good energy to our team,” Robinson said.

Football player Montrell Cozart has played with Cori for several years, and he’s ready for more.

“ I’ve played with him since 5th grade. He’s such an amazing player and I can’t wait to be back on the field with him,” Cozart said.

Stephen Collins knows Cori’s dedication and commitment to the team.

“It’s his body he knows how he feels and he knows if he can play or not, If he felt like him playing would hurt the team he wouldn’t get on the field,”  Collins said.

On his first touch, Cori Scored a 6 yard touchdown. He also played some defense. He only played about 2 quarters just so he could get into the swing of things. Hopefully he will have a great season and be injury free.
