The Emotions After Battle of the Bishops

The Comets are rejoicing for their win against McGuinness.  They ran together to pray over their win at the end.

Not only was Grayson Hall (10) terrified during the game, but he was throwing up because of the stress.  Hall was on all fours while praying and heaving during the last few minutes of the game.

The school hit a huge milestone this football season.  The school finally beat its arch rival, Bishop McGuinness, after a 2 year loss.  The Comets lost to Bishop McGuinness at the beginning of the season. Hall, a cornerback, was more than excited when he found out that they would be playing Bishop McGuinness again.  

“During the entire game, I was thinking ‘this is the last time I will play McGuinness on our turf.  We have to do this’!”  Hall said.

Even the coaches felt the excitement.  Coach Roepke, line coach, felt his blood pressure going up.

“It was one heck of a football game goin’ back n’ forth.  We were gettin’ excited cause we thought we could actually win this one,” Roepke said.

Not only did The Comets beat McGuinness, but they finally got ‘the stick’ on home turf.  There were many emotions going on around the stadium. McGuinness was crying because they did not move unto semi-finals.  The players and students were crying because they finally won against McGuinness on their own turf. The game ended with many tears of joy and sadness.  The ending score was 34-33.
